Thomas D. Lyons
Senior Associate
"Too often the forest gets lost through the trees. That is why I believe it is vital to effective and efficient representation to understand the story of why my client has come to me, and to understand how my client defines victory in a particular situation. Armed with that information, my goal is not simply to try for any outcome, my goal is to obtain victory."
Prior to and during law school at SUNY Buffalo Law School, Thomas served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, and was dual-classified as a Military Police Officer and as the Paralegal Noncommissioned Officer for the 181st Infantry Battalion. Also during law school, Thomas worked as a legal intern for the New Era Cap Co, Inc., served as President of the SUNY Buffalo Law School Moot Court Board, earned a CALI Excellence Award in New York Practice, and graduated in the top 25% of his class with a concentration in Civil Litigation.
Following graduation, Thomas worked at a Buffalo-based civil litigation law firm for several years, during which time he predominantly represented insurance companies in various insurance coverage disputes with their insureds. Thomas also represented his clients in various types of commercial litigation, including product liability cases and construction defect cases.
Thomas has successfully represented clients in State and Federal Courts across New York, and his practice currently focuses on representing clients in business and commercial litigation and also has experience in estate planning and estate administration.
