I plan to expand on Duke Holzman’s successful history by continuing the excellent and thoughtful client representation they’ve come to be known for. Understanding the client’s goals and attention to detail are at the forefront of my practice.

Derick joined Duke Holzman as an associate in 2022, following his graduation from the University at Buffalo School of Law earlier that same year. Prior to law school, Derick worked as an administrative clerk for law firms in the WNY region focusing on banking and finance matters.

During his time at UB, Derick was a contributor for the Sports Law Journal and a student associate for the Entrepreneurship Law Clinic, helping local small businesses and start-ups. His time at the clinic gave him exposure to joint ventures, licensing, business entity formations, intellectual property, internet privacy policies & terms of use, and business contracts. While at Duke Holzman, he has worked on a variety of civil litigation and general corporate matters, including contractual disputes, shareholder/member disputes, business torts, non-solicitation, first-party insurance coverage, purchase and sale of assets, and partnership arrangements.

Outside of law, Derick has been extensively involved in the world of track & field, having ran in college, and has done work for a professional track athlete representation company for about a decade. He works several professional meets across the U.S. each year ensuring Olympic-caliber athletes have the best experience possible during their competition.
