Mr. Ruppar has practiced in the fields of environmental law, insurance law and litigation for more than 30 years. He has represented commercial and industrial clients in connection with many high profile Superfund sites in New York and elsewhere. He also has extensive experience in petroleum remediation cases, regulatory enforcement matters, environmental permitting, environmental due diligence, environmental impact review, toxic tort defense and environmental issues in bankruptcy proceedings. In the field of insurance law, Mr. Ruppar has represented insurers, insureds, bonding companies and adjusters in a wide variety of commercial liability, property and casualty, environmental liability and construction matters.
He has litigated environmental, insurance and other commercial cases in all state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. He also has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution, having represented clients in numerous multi-party Superfund hazardous substance remediation cases. Mr. Ruppar has lectured and written frequently on environmental law issues.
He holds the highest (av) rating for legal ability and professionalism from the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. He is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Law and was chosen as a Super Lawyer in 2007 by Law and Politics magazine. He is a former confidential law assistant to a Justice of the Appellate Division, Fourth Department, New York State Supreme Court, and is a former officer in the United States Army.
